On May 18th, 2022, both the Woodstock-Ingersoll & District Real Estate Board (WITAAR) and the Tillsonburg District Real Estate Board (TDREB) held a membership vote to merge WITAAR and TDREB into one association, the Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg & Area Association of REALTORS®.
The results of the vote for both boards have been confirmed, and we want to announce that the proposed amalgamation has been approved by both association’s membership.
The process began in early 2022, with both boards forming an amalgamation taskforce, which set out the arduous task of developing and presenting an amalgamation proposal to the membership for approval. “The taskforce worked tirelessly to develop a well thought out proposal that represented the needs of both boards’ members. We are very thankful to the work put forward by the taskforce, staff, and the project facilitator Bill Shepherd, which led to this very successful outcome”, said the WITAAR President, Anthony Montanaro.
“We are thankful that the members of both boards came out to show their overwhelming support for this proposal, we know that our two boards are stronger together and we look forward to our new future together,” said the TDREB President, Bryan Wiltshire.
In the coming months, both WITAAR and TDREB and a transition board of directors, will be working together to finalize the amalgamation agreement with the expectation that both boards will be amalgamated on October 1st, 2022.
